In the earlier letter Garrison thanks a friend for the gift of a Thanksgiving turkey and mentions in passing his lecture the night before in Weymouth and the Anti-slavery Society. In the later letter, Garrison reminisces about the anti-slavery movement, and provides a lengthy list of those active in the cause, including a group of "honorable women not a few."
